Emmerson Associates is comprised of a small core team with an active network of thoroughly vetted consultants and interim managers able to bring specific expertise to the total HR function. All carry full Professional Indemnity Insurance.

David Fawcett

HR Consultant

David is our lead consultant. He has over 30 years HR experience including significant experience at senior and HR Director level. He has also gained valuable experience in Sales management which ensures he brings a strong commercial edge to his HR work.

He has worked extensively in;

  • Managed Services
  • Supply Chain and logistics
  • Food Manufacturing
  • Electrical manufacturing and distribution.

His key skills are in:

  • Mergers and acquisitions including due diligence work as well as post acquisition integration.
  • Supporting tendering and outsourcing projects
  • HR strategy and implementation
  • Greenfield developments which include international exposure.
  • Employee and industrial relations
  • Compensation and benefits and reward strategies
  • Pensions management and trustee work

David has been involved with HR consulting and interim work since 1996 and was educated at Leeds and Sheffield Universities in Electrical Engineering and Business Studies.

Brian Carlton

HR Consultant

Brian is our senior associate consultant and he has over 14 years experience in human resources.

His experience covers all aspects of HR and more specifically recruitment and employee relations. This has been gained in industry sectors such as;

  • Facilities Management
  • Logistics and Distribution
  • IT recruitment

Brian has also undertaken projects in the public sector covering employee relations, restructuring and recruitment.

His in depth employee relations skills include:

  • Redundancy and Restructures
  • TUPE
  • Discipline and Grievances
  • Trade Union matters

Brian has also gained extensive experience of assessment centres and is qualified to BPS levels A and B. This enables him to fully assess the current and future ability of candidates and their personality fit with our client's teams and culture.

He has a BA in Economics and an MSC in Information Systems Management. Brian also holds MCIPD professional qualification.
